The Pile: Thoughts, Life, and Photography of Joshua Davis

Destruction of a Forest

Destruction of a ForestThis is a beautiful section of the W&OD trail. A couple of yards to the left of this picture is a creek, which attracts a plethora of wildlife including beavers, turtles, birds, and more. But with the construction of a new big box mall and/or golf range, the wildlife is sure to go away.

The trail is 42 miles long, and 100 feet wide. It’s built on top of an old railroad, which carried such people as Abraham Lincoln. The bridge that spans the creek is the original railroad bridge, and feels about to fall in.
